Keynote-1: Nada Golmie (NIST)
Title: Taming the Millimeter-Wave Bands: A System-Level Perspective

Nada Golmie ( received her Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Maryland at College Park. Since 1993, she has been a research engineer at the National Institute of Standards and Technology. She is currently the chief of the wireless networks division in the Communications Technology Laboratory. Her research in media access control and protocols for wireless networks led to over 100 technical papers presented at professional conferences, journals, and contributed to international standard organizations and industry led consortia. She is the author of Coexistence in Wireless Networks: Challenges and System-level Solutions in the Unlicensed Bands, published by Cambridge University Press (2006). She leads several projects related to the modeling and evaluation of future generation wireless systems and protocols and serves as a co-chair for the 5G mmWave Channel Model Alliance.

Keynote-2: Harish Krishnaswamy (MixComm Inc.)
Title: Opportunities and Challenges at Millimeter-Waves for Commercial Wireless: What Have We Learned in the Last 20 Years?

Harish Krishnaswamy (S’03–M’09) received the B.Tech. degree in electrical engineering from IIT Madras, Chennai, India, in 2001, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, CA, USA, in 2003 and 2009, respectively. In 2009, he joined the Electrical Engineering Department, Columbia University, New York, NY, USA, where he is currently an Associate Professor and the Director of the Columbia High-Speed and Millimeter-Wave IC Laboratory (CoSMIC). In 2017, he co-founded MixComm Inc., a venture-backed startup, to commercialize CoSMIC Laboratory’s advanced wireless research. His current research interests include integrated devices, circuits, and systems for a variety of RF, mmWave, and sub-mmWave applications. Dr. Krishnaswamy was a recipient of the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference Lewis Winner Award for Outstanding Paper in 2007, the Best Thesis in Experimental Research Award from the USC Viterbi School of Engineering in 2009, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Young Faculty Award in 2011, the 2014 IBM Faculty Award, the Best Demo Award at the 2017 IEEE ISSCC, and Best Student Paper Awards (First Place) at the 2015 and 2018 IEEE Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits Symposium . He has been a member of the technical program committee of several conferences, including the IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference since 2015 and the IEEE Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits Symposium since 2013. He currently serves as a Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society and as a member of the DARPA Microelectronics Exploratory Council.

Keynote-3: Krishna Gomadam (Facebook Inc.)
Title: Role of Licensed and Unlicensed Millimeter Wave in delivering the Promise of 5G

Krishna Gomadam is currently a Wireless Systems Architect at Facebook where he is a technical lead for the mmWave wireless distribution network program (Terragraph). Previously he was at Marvell Semiconductor, Broadcom, and Qualcomm working on various aspects of LTE/LTE-A modem design. He holds more than 75 patents. Dr. Gomadam received the B.Tech. degree in electronics engineering from the Madras Institute of Technology, India, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of California (UC), Irvine. He is a recipient of the UC Irvine CPCC graduate fellowship for 2005 and 2006.
